Men have skin, too
Men have exactly the same skin care needs as women. A well-groomed appearance denotes health, well-being, status, self-esteem, attraction and sex-appeal - just like women. Men have slightly thicker skin than women (honestly!) but their skin, hair and nails are often subject to much greater stresses than women. Outdoor work, sports, physical activity and the daily shaving regime can all take their toll.
The stuff they sell to men
Most men don't shop for toiletries from the same shelves as women. They head for the products with the macho packaging and the virile smell. But look on the labels and you'll see that the ingredients are actually much the same.
It is now known that many of these chemical ingredients are toxic and some are actually carcinogenic, which means they can cause cancer. The cosmetics industry is very poorly regulated: in practice, manufacturers may use whatever chemicals they choose in the products they put on the market.
This is especially bad news for men who shave. Shaving (wet or dry) enlarges the pores on the face and many mainstream brands of face wash, shower gel, shaving cream etc. contain penetration enhancers. This means that it makes it easier for whatever you rub into your skin to be absorbed into your body. So when you splash on that after-shave lotion that feels like it's stripping your skin, it probably is stripping your skin. Masochism, or what? You really do not need this stuff in your life.
